Your pet will be in an environment with other animals and it can take up to two weeks for vaccinations to protect an animal. There are also inherent risks of failing to maintain current vaccinations, to include contracting airborne viruses these vaccines protect against. Core vaccines for a dogs is Rabies, Distemper, & Bordetella. We recommend a current Lepto vaccine as well. Core vaccines for a cat is Rabies & Distemper. We recommend a current Leukemia vaccine depending on the cats lifestyle. Should you choose, you may schedule a wellness appointment with us prior to your pet's surgery.

6. E-Collars: An e-collar is a cone that goes around your pets head after surgery to prevent them from licking their incisions open. E-collars are REQUIRED for all dogs. Owners may choose to purchase one at our clinic OR drop one off with your pet the morning of the appointment. E-collars for cats are optional, however recommended. Recheck exams are not complementary if an e-collar is not purchased.
7. Pain Medicine: A spay/neuter procedure requires an incision being made and reproductive organs being removed, similar to other surgical procedures. We do believe your pet will experience some type of discomfort/pain. All pets are given an injection of pain medicine during surgery, however, that injection only lasts for 24 hours. We highly recommend additional post operative pain medication.
